Accessibility Statement

We want this website to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technology.

Last updated: 7 June 2026

1. Our commitment

Polaris Gateway Care aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We test new pages and content against this standard as part of our build process.

2. What works well

  • Semantic HTML with proper headings, landmarks, and lists, so screen readers can navigate the structure.
  • A “skip to main content” link at the top of every page for keyboard users.
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element when navigating with the keyboard.
  • Form fields have clearly associated labels, required-field markers, and inline error messages that are read by assistive technology.
  • Text and background colour combinations meet the WCAG AA contrast target of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and interface controls.
  • The site is responsive and works on touch devices, tablets, and desktops without horizontal scrolling.
  • Animations and transitions respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting in your operating system.

3. Known limitations

  • Some photographs use general alt text rather than detailed descriptions. We are reviewing alt text as we move from stock imagery to our own photography.
  • The current logo is a placeholder. The final designed logo will include a proper text alternative.
  • This site has not yet had a third-party accessibility audit. We plan to commission one within the next 12 months.

4. How to report a problem

If something on this site is hard to use, please tell us. We take every accessibility report seriously and aim to respond within five working days.

If we cannot resolve your accessibility concern, you can also contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for help.

5. Preparation of this statement

This statement was last reviewed on 7 June 2026. It will be updated when significant changes are made to the website or to our accessibility practices.
